To make your 3D design sturdier, I suggest using heavy felt, bag batting, or decovil as your backing fabric.  My instructions and video show this. I have not made my sample fully reversible, as it will hang on the wall.  You can choose to make this design fully reversible by adding matching backing fabric on the back of the hoop. If you are stitching the completed design to a quilt or other project, you can choose to omit the backing fabric entirely. FINISHED SIZE For my step-by-step photos and video, I’ve used the 5x7 size — it’s easier to film and fit in the frame.  This size has smaller pockets, just the right size for a small chocolate or a rolled-up paper voucher/message. If you prefer, you can also skip the pockets on this size and stitch it as a cute decorative design only. The 6x10 and larger sizes include bigger pockets, which are a much more practical size, if you’d like to fill them with small gifts or treats.
