Took me a long time to decide whether to purchase this bow. I wanted a two piece as I ride a motorcycle and it needed to be quick and easy to set up the bow. There wasn’t a lot of info or reviews online, so I felt like I was taking a bit of a risk since it seemed like a newer product for the company and had a different connection system. For a custom made two piece, the price seemed very reasonable. I also asked if they could make it as close to 40# draw as possible, as I was worried about it being too light. When it arrived, I was happy to find it extremely well packaged. The connection system is tight, and locks into place with a simple twist and a small allen screw to secure it. The bow was beautiful – I’m not a huge fan of red coloration and was worried about that before I ordered, but it’s quite gorgeous and subtle. Everyone who sees it comments that it’s really good lookin’.It also weighed in at EXACTLY 40# at 28″ when I weighed the poundage. I was pleasantly surprised. It’s very light in the hand, and a quick shooting bow compared to some of my other longbows, and even recurves. I haven’t chronographed it, but it sure isn’t slow, that’s for sure.I was pleasantly surprised when, on my second time out shooting, I robin-hooded an arrow at 30 yards, slamming one directly into the previous shot arrow and destroying it… the hole-in-one of the archery world. The bow is obviously very capable of extreme accuracy (as evidenced by some youtube guy I watched who uses one of these for trick shots like hitting flying ping pong balls). The only negative stuff is: If someone is a total stickler for detail, there are some slight coloration imperfections in the riser wood, as it gets layered and hand shaped, so it isn’t totally perfect. Adds character, I think, so not worried about it.There is also a very small gap in the back of the riser, the joint area between the two pieces when the bow is strung up. This is apparently normal and unavoidable with two piece bows using this type of joint system, but it might be an issue for some more perfectionistic folks. Certainly doesn’t affect performance, and you have to really look to see it.All in all I could have spent double easily on a two piece bow of this style, and I doubt I would have received a better shooting or looking product.
